Benefit: The Permissibility of Joining Between More Than One Intention in a Single Supererogatory Prayer

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Shaykh ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Nāṣir al-Saʿdī: From the blessings of Allāh [upon us] is that a single action can take the station of multiple actions. [For example] if one enters into the masjid at the time of the rātibah prayer [i.e designated Sunnah prayers before or after the compulsory prayer], and he prays two rakʿahs, with the intention to fulfil the rātibah prayer and also the Sunnah prayer for entering the masjid, he has indeed received their virtues.

Likewise, one is able to comibne the Sunnah prayer for making ablution or even the istikhārah prayer and other than them from the [nawāfil] prayers alongside one’s intentions [to pray the Rātibah and sunnah prayer of entering the masjid].

Translator's note: We understand from this that it is permissible to have more than one intention while carrying out a single Nāfilah prayer (i.e two units of prayer). We learn from this that we can pray two rakʿahs while having the intention of the Sunnah of Ẓuhr, Sunnah of ablution, Sunnah of entering the masjid and even the prayer of istikhārah.

Audio: Sticking to the Jamāʿah Can Make or Break Your Islām

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Sticking to the Jamāʿah Can Make or Break Your Islām

A profound and insightful lecture by our beloved brother Abū Khadījah (may Allāh preserve him), where he describes and gives multiple evidences and examples of Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah. Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah are those who adhere to the rules, regulations and fundamentals that are laid down in the Qurʾān and the Sunnah, and in the Sharīʿah of Allāh, and upon the tongue of the Messenger of Allāh (may Allah raise his rank and grant him peace). When a person sticks to these principles, only then will they be considered Ahl al-Sunnah wa-al-Jamāʿah.

Benefit: The Sunnah of Tasbīḥ

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Shaykh Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Albānī: Whoever makes tasbīḥ [counting subḥan Allāh as the prophet ṣallá Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam did with his fingers] with his left hand has opposed [the sunnah]. Whoever makes tasbīḥ with both of his hands like many of the people do, then he has mixed between a correct action and an incorrect action; perhaps Allāh will pardon him. Lastly, whoever specifies his tasbīḥ with only his right hand has indeed been guided and achieved the sunnah of al-Muṣṭafá (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam).

Focus on The Youth: The Importance of al-Istiqāmah

A beautiful lecture concerning the importance of the tasfīyah (purification) and tarbīyyah (education) of our youth, the many difficulties they face today, and raising our children not only upon keeping them away from the various types of shubuḥāt (doubts) and shaḥawāt (desires), but rather alongside this, cultivating and educating them and building upon this with beneficial knowledge in order to protect them from going astray.

Benefit: The Khawārij Will Arise from ʿIrāq

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

On the authority of Yusayr ibn ʿAmr who said: I asked Sahl ibn Ḥanīf: Have you heard the prophet (ṣalla Allāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) say anything about the Khawārij (renegade terrorists)? He said: I heard him say—while pointing towards the direction of ʿIrāq—there will arise from it a people who recite the Qurʾān whilst it does not go beyond their throats. They will exit the religion like the arrow exits the game’s body.

Audio: Ignorance and Its Cure

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

  Ignorance and Its Cure

An extremely important benefit concerning the importance of curing ignorance with the medicine of knoweldge. Indeed 'ignorance is a disease that kills, and its cure lies in two things in the same form of prescription, a text from the Book of Allāh or from the Sunnah, and the doctor of all of that is the scholar who fears Allāh.'

Benefit: No Attention Is Paid to Doubts in Worship in Three Scenarios

In the Name of Allāh, the Ever Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy

Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn (رحمه الله) stated:

Doubt [by definition] is: going back and forth between two things whichever of them occurred, and no attention is paid to doubt in worship in three scenarios:

  1. If it [stemmed] purely from delusion, which has no reality to it such as the whispers [of Shayṭān].
  2. If it occurs frequently with an individual so much so that he does not perform an act of worship except that [he has present with him doubts] in it.
  3. If it occurred after he completed an [act of] worship.
Hence, no attention ought to be paid to it so long as he was not certain of the affair. Consequently, he should act upon his certainty.
